lexandre Mann was born in Paris, where he lives and works. He is a painter, draftsman, and philosophical writer.

He began painting at the age of six and has exhibited his work since he was eleven. From an early age, he developed a singular philosophical voice that has become inseparable from his artistic practice.

By the age of fifteen, he had begun writing philosophical and poetic reflections, exploring with remarkable maturity the fundamental questions of existence: freedom, time, nature, creation, God, consciousness, solitude, beauty, and the human condition.

Like the great humanist thinkers, for whom writing was a natural extension of contemplating the world, Alexandre Mann considers philosophy a living practice. His writings do not seek to persuade or instruct; rather, they invite contemplation, questioning, and reflection on our relationship with ourselves, with others, and with the living world. His paintings develop a deeply personal gestural vocabulary composed of organic lines, fluid forms, and vibrant colours that embody a mind in constant evolution. Each composition emerges from an inner necessity, where gesture itself becomes language.

Alongside his paintings, Alexandre Mann also creates black ink drawings. Defined by the purity of line and the expressive power of negative space, these works extend his philosophical inquiry into an essential graphic language, where every line becomes the trace of a thought.

For Alexandre Mann, painting is a vital act. "Painting is like breathing," he says. For him, creation is an experience of absolute freedom, where body, mind, and matter converge in a single movement.

Working exclusively with canvases laid directly on the floor, he explores the dynamics of fluid movement through a combination of techniques including brushwork, dripping, pouring, and splashing liquid paint, allowing delicate filaments of colour to emerge organically across the surface.

He also incorporates natural and sculptural materials, wood, pearls, pine cones, and other organic elements, directly onto the canvas, creating a dialogue between painting, materiality, and nature.
